A Narrative biography of civil rights leader L.E. Bennett, an NAACP member and janitor who fought to integrate the district Southwestern Bell/AT&T in the early 1960s. During the civil rights movement, he became the 1st African-American in a craft position, meaning a level above janitor/mechanics. He was the 1st Black Lineman, and 1st black district manager for the Southwestern District which included Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.

In Shoe Fetish, Bennett and Moore have created a sad yet warmly uplifting version of the time-honored transition into womanhood. Their sensitive portrayal of Carmen’s resolute honesty and ultimate empowerment make for an enduring heroine and entertaining reading. Both books received the Reader's Favorite Award at 5 stars.
